Can kids scuba dive in Tioman?

Yes — Tioman PADI operators offer programs for ages 8 and up. The minimum age is set by PADI, not Malaysian law. Children build basic skills in pools and shallow water before any open-water activity. All youth programmes require parental consent and pre-dive medical clearance.

PADI programs by age

Bubblemaker (8-9 years): RM 280-380, pool only, max 2m depth, 1-hour session. Seal Team (8+ years): RM 850-1,100, pool-based 'AquaMissions', 5 sessions. Junior Open Water Diver (10-14 years): RM 1,500-1,800, same as adult OW but max 12m depth. Open Water (15+): full adult certification.
